At Welham & Co, we've always believed these stories deserve to be remembered in a meaningful way. Over the years, we've had the privilege of helping families celebrate the people, pets, and places that matter most to them.

Now, we're beginning a new chapter.

We've introduced a new portrait experience that brings new artists, thoughtful details, and a more personal creative process to the heart of everything we do.

Why We're Making This Change

As Welham & Co has grown, so has our vision for what a custom portrait should be.

We wanted to offer more than a beautiful finished piece. We wanted customers to feel connected to the person behind their artwork and have a greater role in how their portrait comes together.

With that vision in mind, we've welcomed a new team of talented artists, each bringing their own artistic style, skills, and perspective to the portraits they paint.

Every new Welham & Co Studio portrait is hand-painted digitally by a real artist, starting from a blank canvas. Each artist has their own approach to capturing expressions, personalities, and the little details that make every portrait meaningful.

It's a more personal approach to portrait-making, where every detail is considered by an artist who understands that the people, pets, and memories in each photograph mean something different to every customer.

This new direction reflects what we want Welham & Co to stand for: real artistry, meaningful connections, and portraits worth treasuring for years to come.

Introducing Select Your Artist

We believe choosing a custom portrait should feel just as personal as receiving one.

As part of this new chapter, we're giving you more choice in how your portrait comes together, starting with the artist who paints it.

With our new Select Your Artist feature, you can explore available artists and choose who you'd like to paint your portrait. This gives you the freedom to choose an artist whose style feels right for the portrait you have in mind.

If you're not sure who to choose, we'll match your order with the next available artist in your chosen style.

You can also leave a personal note for your artist when uploading your photographs. Whether it's a particular expression, a meaningful detail, or something you'd like them to pay special attention to, your note helps communicate what matters most.

It's a small but meaningful change that brings you closer to the person painting your portrait.

A Closer Look at the Creative Process

With our new Studio experience, you'll have more opportunities to be involved in how your portrait comes together.

It all begins with a sketch.

Within 1–3 days, you'll receive your first look at the composition, giving you the opportunity to check how everyone is positioned and request any changes before the painting begins.

Once you're happy with the sketch, your artist moves on to painting the final artwork. You'll still have unlimited revisions for small details, so you can make sure the finished portrait feels right.

You'll also receive a time-lapse of your portrait being painted digitally, allowing you to watch your artwork come together from beginning to end.

It's a more personal way to experience the creative process, giving you a closer look at the care and artistry behind your finished portrait.

You'll continue to enjoy $0 upfront, allowing you to see your artwork before you pay, along with the opportunity to request revisions throughout the creative process.
